Below is a list of phone numbers to call when mental health, medical, or other support if needed. These include resources that are both local and more largely accessible. Student Advocacy Resource Center Crisis Line

SARC is a free resource for college students at the University of Montana campus that have experienced harassment or violence of any kind. They provide a safe place where students can speak with trained professionals to receive guidance and support.

YWCA General Shelter Line

The YWCA General Shelter Line is one part of the overall organization that is focused on advocating against sexual as well as domestic violence and harassment.


Safe and secure shelter is available for adults and their children in need of immediate protection. Survivors stay in private sleeping rooms and have access to communal living, dining, kitchen and outdoor areas. While residing at the shelter, survivors work with YWCA advocates to plan for their safety, access needed resources, find stable housing and heal from trauma. Legal and health care services, children’s programs and therapeutic services are available to shelter residents. The Domestic Violence Shelter is located in The Meadowlark and is pet friendly.

The YWCA 24-Hour Crisis Line is a hotline for individuals who are experiencing crisis whether it be sexual violence or domestic violence the 24-Hour Crisis Line is available to speak with someone confidentially.

Billings Transgender Alliance

This organization for transgender individuals and allies in the Billings area provides a safe place where community members can be their true selves. This Alliance holds both weekly and monthly meetings to cultivate community connections.

Western Montana Community Center

The Western Montana Community Center is an organization based in Missoula, MT but can be utilized all around Montana to access counseling resources. Their main goal is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals to be who they want to be. There are weekly as well as monthly meetings and events open to anyone.
